PHOENIX -- The countdown for Kaley O'Kelley's return to "Good Morning Arizona" is on.
O'Kelley gave birth to daughter Karsen York on May 29, a couple of days earlier than anticipated. She called in Wednesday to chat with Javier Soto and Yetta Gibson, announcing that she will be back in the anchor chair on Monday, Aug. 12.
Karsen, who turned 8 weeks old Wednesday, is O'Kelley's second child.
Now a big brother, Paul turns 2 in November. O'Kelley said he's adjusting to big-brotherhood, and is learning to handle his baby sister with care. She said he adores little Karsen.
Even though O'Kelley hasn't been in the studio, she's been with "Good Morning Arizona" in spirit, getting up with Karsen at 4:30 a.m. every day.
"You guys have been just so much fun to watch," O'Kelley said. "We watch every morning."
While she's still enjoying her time with Karsen and Paul, O'Kelley said she's nearing the point of being ready to get back into the groove of "Good Morning Arizona" on 3TV's side of the camera rather than part of the audience.
O'Kelley, a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, joined Arizona's Family and the "Good Morning Arizona" team in September 2009.
