There are several ways to get out of the heat both today and this weekend. At 118, there's no reason you have to be outside to have fun when you can visit Castles and Coasters just off I-17.

"Stay in the arcade, drink some soda, play a lot of video games. It's about 72 degrees, it keeps you cool," said Dave Van-T from Castles and Coasters.

Buzzing around in one of the bumper boats will also keep you cool, so will the thundering log ride.

Another hidden gem is the Deer Valley Airport restaurant. Everything is homemade, and you can taste it too while watching planes take off. Owner Voula Papamatheakis is offering up a sweet deal.

"The sundae is $1.50 today; come and cool down!" said Papamatheakis.

Heading north out of town? Make sure to start your cool-down by stopping off for a piece of pie at Rock Springs Cafeé, which is arguably the best in the valley.

Or, get out of the hot weather by getting into the water at Wet 'N' Wild. Water slides, a wave pool and a lazy river will keep you cool all day. If you really want to beat the heat, you'll want to show up after the hottest part of the day.

"We admit people for $19.99, and it's called our twilight ticket. It's valid Thursday, Friday and Saturday's after 5 o'clock," said Trevor Wilson with Wet 'N' Wild.
