KEW, England -- Today marks the first day of spring, though the Met Office have said that temperatures are likely to be below average throughout March.
The vernal equinox, the official start of spring according to The Old Farmer's Almanac, is at 4:02 a.m. Arizona time on Wednesday, March 20.
