LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) — The world's largest rubber band ball will be transported from Florida's Broward County to a Ripley's Believe it or Not warehouse in Orlando.
The ball was created by 28-year-old Joel Waul of Lauderhill. It took Waul nearly six years and more than 9,000 pounds of rubber bands of varying sizes to create the orb. It stands 6-foot, 7-inches tall.
The Guinness Book of World Records declared it the largest rubber band ball in the world in 2008.
Waul sold the ball to Ripley's and it will be removed from Waul's driveway — by crane — on Thursday.
