LAS VEGAS (AP) — An envelope-pushing Las Vegas Strip nightclub has closed a month after a judge ordered it to clean up its raunchy shows.
A spokeswoman for The Act club inside The Palazzo confirmed the year-old venue was shuttered after a final night of partying Saturday.
An official explanation for the closure wasn't offered.
The avant-garde club had been in a legal battle with its landlords over simulated sex acts in its shows.
A judge ruled in September that the club needed to edit 13 of 30 skits that appeared to run afoul of lease provisions. Those conditions allow landlord Las Vegas Sands to veto tenants that detract from the "first-class" image the resort and casino wants to project.
Club officials contended the landlord was aware of the show's content all along.
