CYPRESS, Texas (AP) — Authorities have a suspect in custody in today's stabbing attack at a Texas college campus that left more than a dozen people wounded.

They say he's a student at the school.

They initially believed that there might be a second suspect -- but they now say there was just one person going from one campus building to another, stabbing people.

The attack sent at least 12 people to area hospitals, including four who were taken by helicopter. A fire department spokesman says several others refused treatment at the scene.

One student says he was in class when he received a text message from a friend, and went outside to see a young woman being loaded into an ambulance with what appeared to be stab wounds to either her head or neck. He says police "got to the scene very quickly."

Another student was in a class when his phone started buzzing, along with the phones of everyone else in the room. The classroom was temporarily locked down, but students were let out and allowed off campus a short time later, in what the student described as an orderly evacuation.
