PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — The FBI has joined Michigan authorities in investigating what they say are three related shootings involving vehicles on southeast Michigan roadways.

The shootings happened between 5:40 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Monday in Washtenaw County. Two were in Bridgewater Township and one was in Pittsfield Township, about 40 miles southwest of Detroit.

There were no injuries.

State police say the timing makes "investigators believe all three vehicle shootings are related."

FBI spokesman Simon Shaykhet tells The Associated Press the agency is working with township, county, state and other federal authorities.

The FBI typically joins cases when police seek technical or staffing help.

Forty-three-year-old Raulie Casteel is jailed on attempted murder and other charges on accusations he fired on two dozen people on and near Interstate 96 in southeastern Michigan last year.
