MESA, Ariz. -- Silent Witness is hoping a close look at a young lady in surveillance video could help them find a violent man.
“This was a very serious aggravated assault and a very serious felony crime,” said Sgt. Darren Burch with Silent Witness.
The assault involves a Mesa police officer.
“Completely unprovoked the suspect began to assault the officer, struck him in the head,” said Sgt. Burch.
A powerful blow that knocked the officer out cold.
“The officer sustained a concussion, fell to the ground, had a huge gash in his head, requiring medical attention,” said Sgt. Burch.
This all started when police got a 911 disturbance call near Alma School and Main in Mesa.

Police were able to find video from a nearby Circle K,that they hope will eventually identify and find this mystery man wearing an orange sweatshirt.
“If people watching this video can't recognize the suspect because of the hoody that the suspect is wearing, you might recognize the person he is with and that connection could identify the suspect,” said Sgt. Burch.
If you happen to recognize the young lady or the man in orange, you're urged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

You could get a reward of up to $1,000 and you can stay anonymous.
