PHOENIX -- The Arizona State Fair opened Friday along with the 40th annual installment of Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake. 

Oktoberfest has free admission and runs 10a .m.-midnight Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. 

The Arizona State Fair runs through Nov. 4.
