PHOENIX -- In an effort to reduce traffic congestion near Terminal 4, Sky Harbor moved the East Cell Phone Lot to a location that can accommodate more than four times the vehicle traffic.
The original cell phone lot closed and the new one opened at 5 a.m. Friday. The move is temporary, in effect until the end of the month.
There is a series of lighted signs to guide drivers to the new location, which is north of East Economy Parking.

For drivers entering from the west, Sky Harbor will continue to offer its cell phone lot located just west of Terminal 2.
Additionally, those picking up and dropping off Terminal 4 passengers can avoid traffic by using the PHX Sky Train® Station at 44th and Washington streets. The station features a cell phone lot where drivers may wait, free of charge, while their friends or loved ones take the five-minute ride on the train from Terminal 4.
Terminal 4 serves 80 percent of Sky Harbor’s passengers on Southwest, US Airways, American, Aeromexico, Air Canada, British Airways, Volaris and WestJet.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, America's Friendliest Airport™, is one of the top 10 busiest airports in the U.S.
