PHOENIX -- Police are searching for the man who robbed a Phoenix cupcake shop after asking an employee for change.

It happened the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Gigi's Cupcakes near 40th Street and Camelback Road.

According to police, the suspect walked into the shop just after 6 p.m. and asked the employee for change. When the employee opened the register, the suspected sprawled across the counter and grabbed money from the tray.

The suspect fled the store. Once outside, he jumped into a newer model gold Mercedes driven by a second suspect. While police do not have a license plate number for the car, they said it might have some damage to the driver's side mirror. That car was last seen heading east on Camelback Road.

The suspect who was in the store is described as a white male between 25 and 30 years old. He's about 6 feet tall, weighs between 150 and 180 pounds and has dark brown hair.

The driver of the Mercedes is described only as a black male.
