PHOENIX -- Three people are in the hospital after a woman in her 60s lost control of her car and plowed into a Phoenix bus stop.
It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at 35th and Alice avenues, which is just a few blocks south of Dunlap Avenue.
Police say the woman was driving south on 35th Avenue when she lost control of her car. The vehicle slammed into a bus stop.
Two people, also in their 60s, who were walking near the bus stop were seriously injured.
At this point, investigators do not believe the driver, who was on her way to work, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but they do not know why she lost control of her car. Emergency crews were trying to determine if she suffered from a medical condition that might have caused her to have a seizure.
The driver and the two victims were taken to local hospitals. Their injuries reportedly are not life-threatening.
