PHOENIX -- It's starting to look a lot like Christmas around Arizona.
Once again, elves have decorated a juniper tree in the median of Interstate 17 north of Sunset Point. It has happened almost every year over the last three decades.
No one has ever been caught in the act and no one has come forward. Those who know the elves behind the mysterious tree trimming aren't telling.
The tree escaped a brush fire last year. According to the Black Canyon Fire Department, the fire burned up to the tree but did not burn it down.
Even though authorities have turned a blind eye to the anonymous decorators, remember it's illegal to stop along the interstate or to dash across the lanes for any reason even if it's to spruce up one of Arizona's most well-known Christmas trees.
