Frustrated Target customer kept on hold for 6 hours

GILBERT, Ariz. -- A Valley woman is upset with Target, saying the store ruined a Christmas surprise for her boyfriend and kept her on hold for six hours when she called customer service for help.
 
Katie Johnson describes herself as a loyal Target customer. She ordered an iPod Nano from Target.com to give to her boyfriend as a Christmas present but started inquiring what happened when it didn’t show up as scheduled.
 
She first called UPS and that company said the package was delivered and left on the porch. UPS representatives told Johnson that since the package was apparently stolen off her porch before she actually took possession of it, Target, as the sender, would have to file the claim with UPS.
 
Johnson has been trying to contact Target ever since, simply wanting the store to start the UPS claim process. She even acknowledged that Target customer service is understandably overwhelmed dealing with the recent credit card hacking and didn’t mind waiting on hold for the first hour.
 
However, after calls, tweets and emails the only response Target has offered is a form email telling Johnson to check her porch and house again for the package. Now she’s upset the retail giant hasn’t offered any resolution for her problem.
 
“It disappoints me because Target is one of my favorite stores and it makes me not want to shop there now because of this situation. And I even went into a Target store and asked them [for help] but they gave me the same number I was on hold with forever and I was, like, not doing that again,” said Johnson.
 
3TV has reached out to Target’s corporate office in Minneapolis but Target has yet to return the request for comment.
