MESA, Ariz. -- A cab driver was found suffering from multiple stab wounds in the bathroom of a public park-and-ride station early Saturday morning.

About 12:45 a.m., Mesa Police received a 911 call regarding someone screaming in the bathroom of a park-and-ride station near Sycamore and Main Street.

Police responded and found William A. Bishop, 57, of Tempe, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police said Bishop was working overnight and waiting for fares at the station.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

With help from witnesses, police located the suspect, 20-year-old Ricardo Alejandro Ramirez, a short distance from the station.

Witnesses later told detectives that Ramirez had been making comments about working for Satan and being at the station to collect souls.

Ramirez reportedly told police he had been drinking and blacked out.

He was booked on one count of first-degree homicide.
