PHOENIX -- Metro Phoenix, and much of central and western Arizona, will remain in an Excessive Heat Warning through the weekend.

We are beginning to see the start of summer thunderstorms. On Friday afternoon, rather light thunderstorms were reported along western portions of the Mogollon Rim near Strawberry, Sedona and Flagstaff.

Through the weekend, we expect these isolated thunderstorms to continue in the high country. At this point, we’re seeing some signs that by late next week, we could get some blowing dust in the Valley.

However, the chance for any rain looks slim through the Fourth of July holiday weekend in central Arizona.
