CHANDLER, Ariz. – Police investigated a bomb threat at the Intel plant in Chandler Wednesday morning.

The threat indicated there was an explosive device at a facility that is under construction next to the plant where people currently work near Dobson and Ocotillo roads. No employees were inside the building.

There were, however, several hundred construction workers in the building when the call came in to 911 at about 5:30 a.m.

The building that is under construction was evacuated.

"Any time we get a call of a threat for a device like that, we take it seriously. Intel takes it seriously," Chandler police Sgt. Joe Favazzo said.

Police officers and bomb-sniffing dogs were sent in to work with Intel's emergency response team.

Chandler police searched the area but did not find any devices.
