MESA, Ariz. -- Three Tennessee men have been indicted in connection with a Mesa homicide that occurred on Halloween.
Zackary Burgess, 22, Joseph Holt, 22, and Brandon Simon, 18, were indicted Wednesday for allegedly killing 36-year-old Brian Lee Weathers.
Weathers was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound around 11:45 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 300 block of East Harmony Avenue.
He was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives initially had very little information about the homicide, but a witness eventually came forward and provided information that lead to the identities of the suspects, police said Thursday.
All three men were arrested in Cheatham County, Tenn. on unrelated charges.
When two of the suspects were contacted in Tennessee, they were driving a vehicle that contained evidence linking them to the Arizona homicide, Mesa police said.
Each man is being charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, and one count of armed robbery.
They are each being held in a Tennessee jail on a $1 million bond and will be extradited to Arizona.
