PHOENIX -- Phoenix police have released photos of the individuals believed to be responsible for a shooting that killed a man and left a woman injured.
The photos show a Hispanic man and a Hispanic woman at a Circle K buying drinks. There is also a photo of their vehicle, which is described as a blue 2007 Chevrolet Impala 4-door.
The shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road on June 17.
Brent A. Stasilli, 34, was killed and a 41-year-old woman was shot in the leg. She is expected to recover.
According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department, the man and woman were riding their bicycles in the area when they got into some kind of argument with another man and woman, who were in a car.
It's not clear what sparked the altercation, but at some point the man in the car got out and shot the couple.
The male suspect was described as Hispanic, 35 to 45 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, chubby with a dark complexion and an acne-scarred face. He was wearing a black do-rag, black shirt and shorts. The female suspect was described as Hispanic with black, wavy shoulder-length hair and glasses. She was possibly wearing a black T-shirt and purple scrubs.
At about 6:30 a.m., police removed the victims' bicycles from a separate crime scene just down the street from the main scene. One of those bikes was left in the middle of the road. The other was on the sidewalk. There were clothes beside it.
Investigators with flashlights scoured the front yards of homes near where the bikes were found.
Detectives have not determined a motive for the shooting, nor do they know if the victims and suspects were acquainted.
