TEMPE, Ariz. – The lockdown placed on several Tempe schools following a road rage incident at the Loop 101 and U.S. 60 has been lifted.
Tempe Police said students at Marcos de Niza High School, Gethsemane Lutheran School, Rover Elementary School, Fees College Preparatory Middle School and ABC Preschool were allowed to leave late Thursday afternoon.
According to Tempe police, the incident occurred when shots were fired from one vehicle at another at around 1:20 p.m.
Officers pulled over the vehicle that fired the shots and discovered two people inside.
One of the suspects was detained by police, while the other individual fled on foot.
Police were forced to place the schools on lockdown as they searched for the second suspect in the area of Guadalupe and Lakeshore roads.
The suspect still has yet to be found.
