PHOENIX -- A Valley man has admitted to the 2011 murder of his girlfriend.

Paul Hamilton entered a guilty plea Friday to charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and threatening/intimidation.

Hamilton is due back in court on April 19 to be sentenced.

The body of Hamilton’s girlfriend was discovered in May of 2011 inside a truck parked at a Phoenix convenience store.

The truck was sitting at one of the gas pumps when a woman outside the vehicle began yelling for help.

A man helped move the truck to a parking spot, at which time the woman said she had to go and left the scene.

The man subsequently noticed that there was another woman inside the vehicle, and that there appeared to be signs of trauma.

The police were called and they determined that the woman inside the truck was dead.

During their investigation police learned that Hamilton was the deceased woman’s boyfriend.

Investigators located Hamilton and served a search warrant at his home.

After speaking with Hamilton and searching his residence police determined that they had enough information to charge him with the murder of his girlfriend.
