TEMPE -- With Arizona State University students back on campus, Tempe police officers are emphasizing safety around the light rail.
Testing of the trains is ongoing as the Valley's newest mass-transit system prepares for its December launch.
To make sure students are ready for the trains that will travel through campus, police and the university launched light-rail safety campaigns.
Officers are also giving verbal warnings to people using the tracks as a path, not using crosswalks to cross the tracks or ignoring traffic signals.
Next week people not following the rules could face $50 tickets.
