Valley man took victims' money in home-loan scam

Bobby John Herrera
SURPRISE -- On December 11, 2008 at approximately 1100 hours, Surprise Police Detectives arrested 33 year old, Bobby John Herrera in the 4900 block of Villa Maria Drive, Glendale Arizona.
Surprise Police Investigators, assisted by the Attorney General’s Office, were investigating Herrera for Fraudulent Schemes associated with the ruse of acting as a home loan agent for home loan modifications and refinancing.
Herrera would meet with members of the community acting as an agent to assist with their home loan needs. Herrera would then ask for money up front and once he receives the money he would not be heard from again.
As per the Attorney General’s Office, the Surprise Police Investigators advised that to date there are numerous victims that have come forward from around the valley.
Herrera was booked into Maricopa County jail on 5 counts of Fraud by Surprise Police Detectives. The case is on-going.
