PHOENIX -- A multi-vehicle collision on I-17 blocked 2 of the northbound lanes at the Union Hills exit around 4:30pm Wednesday evening.

Lanes closed

The collision caused a stretch of I-17 to come to a near stand-still as crews cleared debris and wrecked cars from the roadway.

DPS says that there were possible suspects fleeing as authorities arrived on scene.

No word yet on what caused the collision.
