Police searching for suspect in deadly early morning shooting
PHOENIX -- A Valley woman is in the hospital, the victim of an overnight shooting that might be connected to another shooting in the same South Phoenix home.
Officers were flagged down near 24th Street and Broadway Road late Tuesday night.
Police found a 52-year-old woman in the shadows of a carport. She had been shot in the chest. The woman was rushed to the hospital. Her condition is not known at this time.
Police were at the same home less than 24 hours earlier investigating another shooting.
Witnesses said a small compact car drove by and somebody inside shot a man who was talking to a friend in a carport -- the same carport where the woman was found.
That 36-year-old man was pronounced dead.
While police do believe the two incidents might be connected, they have no suspect information at this time.
Both investigations are ongoing.
