DMX failed to show for a pre-trial conference

PHOENIX -- A bench warrant has been issued for rapper DMX after he failed to show for a pre-trial conference.

The judge will hold the warrant until 4 p.m. Tuesday to give his attorney time to provide information to the court regarding his location and reasons for his non-appearance.

Bond for the musician, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has also been raised to $25,000.

DMX is facing 11 counts, including drug possession and animal cruelty charges, in connection to an August 2007 raid at his Cave Creek home.

Also, prosecutors say DMX allegedly gave a false name and Social Security number to a Scottsdale hospital in April to avoid paying a $75,000 medical bill.
