PHOENIX -- Police in Phoenix are trying to figure out how a Valley man died over the weekend.

Man had been drunk day before

A 35-year-old man was found dead in the streets near 17th and McKinley streets Sunday. A resident of the area made the discovery.

Investigators said the man was extremely drunk Saturday night and tried to go home, but his family refused to let him in because of his altered state.

Police have not said how the man died, nor have they released his identity. The investigation is ongoing.
