MESA -- Police said a pregnant woman on drugs is responsible for hitting two unmarked police vehicles with a stolen car.

1 officer, woman taken to hospital

One of those officers was taken to the hospital.

It all started when officers began following a stolen car in Tempe. The woman behind the wheel refused to stop. She hit an unmarked police car from behind, but kept right on going, driving into Mesa.

Police said the woman, who has been identified as Angelina Sanchez, did stop briefly at Main Street and Extension. Officers set up a perimeter there, but that didn't stop Sanchez.

The 25-year-old kept going on Extension and crashed head-on into an unmarked gang unit vehicle. That's where it all came to an end.

According to police, two plainclothes officers were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
