MESA -- City of Mesa employees will face a pay cut as the city tries to cut back on expenses.
On Jan. 5 all Mesa employees will be hit with a 2 percent base pay cut.
The city manager has proposed that city employees switch to a workweek consisting of four 10-hour days.
He plans to reduce personnel costs by nearly $7 million this fiscal year, which began back in July, so there will be some job cuts.
Mesa made $5 million less in tax revenue from June to September this year than the city thought it would.
