MARICOPA -- A former Mesa police officer has been arrested on allegations of sexual misconduct with 2 children.

Former officer Justin Bowman has been charged with 12 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police arrested Bowman on October 29th after his wife called police saying that he was going to kill himself.

Police later learned of the allegations of abuse and executed a search warrant at the home.

According to investigators, a boy and a girl both younger than 15 said that they had sex with Bowman.

They also said that the former officer had them perform other sexual acts.

According to the indictment, some of the alleged incidents happened in Bowman's car, garage, and on a boat.

Bowman quit from the Mesa Police Department in mid-September with no reason given for his resignation.
