Fry's evacuated in Glendale after bomb scare

GLENDALE -- Glendale Police evacuated a Fry's supermarket located at 67th avenue and Bethany Home road due to a bomb scare.
The incident occured when a customer notified an off-duty police officer to something suspicious outside of the store Friday evening.
According to police, a briefcase or suitcase was left on top of a propane tank rack outside of the store.
The Glendale Bomb Squad was called to the scene. They used a shotgun to disarm any potential device inside the case.
The evacuation lasted about an hour and a half.
