Woman accused of stealing $500,000

PRESCOTT, AZ -- The following is a press release from the Prescott Police Dept.:

Carrie L. Williams-Thompson, aka Kooki the Clown, age 48, was arrested in Corona, California on a felony warrant from Yavapai County.

An extensive Prescott Police investigation revealed that Williams-Thompson has stolen more than $500,000 from an elderly victim she befriended after the victim’s husband died. Williams became the victim’s Power of Attorney and used the victim’s money to purchase homes, vehicles and a fifth wheel trailer in addition to other items.

Williams-Thompson will be extradited back to Arizona where she will face five felony charges. These include Fraud, Theft, Financial Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult, Forgery, and Unlawful Use of Power of Attorney.
