Goudeau attorney's motion regarding jury deliberations denied

By Courtney Zubowski

A motion filed by the lawyer for accused "Baseline Killer" and convicted rapist Mark Goudeau has been denied.

Last week, Goudeau's attorney argued that the jury in his client's first trial couldn't have come to a fair verdict during the short three-hour deliberations they held.

Goudeau was found guilty of 19 charges in connection with an assault on two sisters in a south Phoenix park.

Goudeau will be sentenced on those charges on Dec. 14.

A trial on charges in connection with the baseline killer case should start next year.
