6-year-old Tucson girl killed by bullet as she sleeps
06:36 AM Mountain Standard Time on Wednesday, October 17, 2007
TUCSON -- A 6-year-old Tucson girl was killed Tuesday when a bullet came through her front door and hit her as she was sleeping on a living room couch.
Pima County sheriff's deputies say they have no suspects in the early morning shooting of Analissa Monarea-Leon.
Sgt. James Ogden says Analissa was in the home with her mother, her boyfriend and two siblings when the shot slammed through the door at about 5 a.m.
He pleaded for the gunman to turn himself in.
Analissa attended nearby White Elementary School and grief counselors spent the day consoling children there.
Odgen says investigators have no any suspects and are asking for the public to provide tips.
Detectives are looking for two vehicles involved in a shooting outside the home several hours earlier. Ogden says a passenger got out of a newer model Chevy Tahoe and fired a shot at an Oldsmobile sedan. That shooting was not reported.
