The dog that led Sky Harbor Airport crews on a spirited chase last week has been euthanized.

The dog was put to sleep Monday instead of being put up for adoption.

Last Thursday, the dog made headlines when it ran all over the tarmac at Sky Harbor for more than 30 minutes with crews in hot pursuit the entire time.

According to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, the dog needed some behavioral work. They said it could have been done.

The problem, the agency said, was that it did not have enough volunteers or staff to work with the dog.
