Valley woman reported missing

09:40 PM Mountain Standard Time on Wednesday, June 27, 2007

By Brain Webb / 3TV

A Valley woman is missing and tonight her family fears the worst.

Cheryl Jones, 44, was last scene more than a week ago in Prescott.

Jones is from Tempe, but Yavapai County is handling this case since Prescott is the last place she was seen alive.

Her family has a feeling she could very well be dead.

Jones lives in her Tempe house with her mother and her daughter.

Neighbors couldn't help notice police stopping by the past few days.

Jones was last scene by a friend in Prescott nine days ago right after a custody hearing.

Not a word since, not to check in with friends, not even to check on her daughter.

On the law enforcement radar screen are Jones’ two ex husbands.

One was released from prison four months ago on drug charges and the other involved in a custody battle over their daughter.

Neither one is being called a suspect at this time, but friends and family can't help but think the worst.

Nine days with no sign is just not right.

Jones drove her mother’s car to Prescott last week.

It’s a 1998, silver, Suzuki Esteem. Cheryl's daughter is now staying with her father.
