06:35 AM Mountain Standard Time on Thursday, May 3, 2007
The woman accused of drowning her newborn might have tried to hide her pregnancy from her husband.
According to court records and police reports, Cynthia Turman told Scottsdale officer she didn't want her husband, who apparently had a vasectomy five years ago, to know she was pregnant.
Tureman, the mother of three, gave birth to a baby girl in a foot of water in a bathtub at her home.
Police believe Tureman drowned the infant, then disposed of her body. The baby was found in a garbage can at a Scottsdale Chevron station last Friday.
Tureman is now behind bars, and is charged with first-degree murder.
