Authorities have arrested Mikhail Drachev in Canada Friday night in connection with the 2001 murder in Phoenix of police informant, Konstantin Simberg.

Chris Andrews, 23, and Dennis Tsoukanov, 24, the two other suspects in this case, had already been convicted and are currently in prison.

Drachev, 24, had been outstanding for more than 5 years until his arrest late Friday night.

According to Stacie Derge of the Phoenix police, police in Toronto became aware of Drachev after his fiance told them who he was.

Derge says that on Dec. 14 of 2001, Detective Tom Britt was talking to police informant, Konstantin Simberg, on the phone when he heard a scream and sounds of a struggle.

Approximately a week later, hunters found Simberg's body in a northern Arizona creek.

Simberg was a police informant on an insurance fraud case at a Phoenix pharmacy.

Detectives have not been able to connect his murder with the case.

Drachev is in the custody of Toronto police awaiting extradition to Arizona.
