ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Notorious and prolific serial killer Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez once told me that "we're all evil."

Personally I don't think that is true, but it is certainly true of the people in Ramirez's line of work.

The latest example comes to us from the state of Alaska where over the weekend a 34-year-old confessed serial killer named Israel Keyes committed suicide in an Anchorage jail cell as he was awaiting trial for the kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of an 18-year-old girl who he admitted to abducting at gun-point from a coffee stand one night last February.

It was a cowardly exit by a man who also claimed credit for killing a married couple in Vermont in 2011.

Before taking his own life Keyes also told law officers that he murdered four unidentified people in Washington State and another unidentified person on the East Coast.

In the wake of Keyes' death, FBI Agents and cops all across the country are now trying to retrace his travels over the last decade or so to see if there are other crimes and killings that he may have committed.

An FBI agent based in Alaska told me over the phone Wednesday that investigators believe Keyes traveled through Arizona earlier this year shortly after murdering the young woman in Anchorage.

He was later busted in Texas using the murdered woman's ATM card.

Wednesday the FBI released photos of Keyes and a rather detailed account of the information they have gathered on him in hopes that if anyone recognizes him and has additional information about other possible crimes he may have committed they will step forward.
