2 painters die after lift tips over at Ariz. jail

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say two painters have died after falling off a lift near the roof of a Phoenix jail.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the painters were working late Wednesday morning on the Lower Buckeye Jail when the lift the two workers were on tipped over.

Officials say both workers were taken to a Phoenix hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The names of the two painters haven't been released yet.

Phoenix radio station KTAR (http://bit.ly/1ar3G6G ) reports both workers were contracted by the sheriff's office to paint the jail.
