PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says she's horrified and heartbroken by the bombings at the Boston Marathon that left at least two people dead and dozens badly injured.
Brewer issued a statement Monday afternoon asking all Arizonans to join her in prayer for the victims and their families. She also says she's confident the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
Other Arizona politicians also issued statements about the tragedy.
Attorney General Tom Horne called the bombings "nothing less than despicable and cowardly attacks on innocent people."
House speaker Andy Tobin says he's baffled by the motives of what he called a "senseless act" and was praying for the people of Boston.
