PHOENIX (AP) — Police say a woman is in critical condition after three gunmen opened fire during a soccer game at a west Phoenix park.

Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos says the soccer game was under way at Sueno Park at about 7 p.m. Saturday when two men with handguns and one with a rifle showed up and began shooting.

The three men fled from the park after the shooting and have not been found. The 32-year-old woman was hospitalized and was in critical condition on Sunday.

Martos says police don't know why the three men began shooting or if the woman was the intended target.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Silent Witness telephone line at 480-WITNESS.
