PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a nurse at a Mesa hospital is accused of stealing almost 350 doses of narcotics for his personal use.
Mesa police say 31-year-old Brandon Renner is being held on suspicion of obtaining narcotic drugs by misrepresentation, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.
The Arizona Republic says the Gilbert man is a nurse at Mountain Vista Medical Center.
Authorities say Renner allegedly took 349 doses of morphine, fentanyl, dilaudid, ativan and demerol from the hospital's dispensing units using his bio-metric and hospital identification card over the past couple weeks.
Police say hospital administration discovered the missing narcotics while conducting an unrelated audit.
Renner was arrested Thursday after his lunch box was searched and police found 41 half-empty viles of narcotics, used and unused syringes and drug-related items.
