TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a female teacher at a Tucson high school has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage boy.
Pima County Sheriff's officials say 23-year-old Christina Marie Carbone was taken into custody Friday. She's being held on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
They say Carbone teaches in the Flowing Wells School District and the 16-year-old boy wasn't one of her students and attends a school in a different district.
Authorities began an investigation on May 2 and say Carbone met the teen at a social function in March.
KVOA-TV says Carbone is a first-year teacher and she's been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the school district.
Authorities didn't immediately know whether Carbone had legal representation yet for her case.
