PHOENIX (AP) -- Parts of Interstates 17 and 40 remained closed Friday as officials shut down other roads in response to winter storms.

Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman Doug Nintzel says State Route 87 was closed between the Saguaro Lake turnoff and State Route 188 due to mudslides.

Flooding closed the Carefree Highway between Interstate 17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway. U.S. 60 was closed in two places, west of Wickenburg because of flooding and west of Globe due to downed power lines and icy conditions.

Interstate 17 between Flagstaff and Camp Verde and Interstate 40 between Winslow and Kingman were closed earlier.
