PHOENIX -- A Valley baby made her grand entrance into the world not only on the same day as Britain's Prince George of Cambridge, but just five minutes after the royal birth.
Kinsley Maples was born July 22 at 4:29 p.m. at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, half a world away from where from where the royal couple was celebrating their new arrival.
"We all knew she was about to come at the same time so everyone in the hospital was talking about it," Crystal Maples, Kinsely's mom (or mum in England), said, holding her little daughter close.
Although her mom and the hospital staff think it's neat, Kinsley's proximity to the birth of Prince George of Cambridge is not what makes her story unique. Rather, it's that she was born right about same time as her mother and her grandmother. The were both born at 4:24.
"It's pretty cool," Maples said.
Kinsley is Maples' first baby. The new mom is still a little in awe of the tiny being she worked so hard -- 14 hours of labor -- to bring into the world.
"It's definitely surreal," she said, gazing down at Kinsley, who seemed to be looking right back into her mom's eyes.
Maples said she can't wait to watch Kinsley grow up.
