GILBERT, Ariz. -- Two East Valley men are facing criminal charges for their alleged roles in four ATM theft cases.

Gerald Paul Cox, 46, and LeVar Coryell Mariner, 34, have been booked into jail on charges of theft, criminal damage, and theft of means of transportation.

Gilbert Police said for the past year detectives have been investigating the theft of one ATM and the attempted theft of another ATM from two Chase Bank locations in Gilbert.

Surveillance eventually led the detectives to Oro Valley, and on Monday Mariner and Cox were arrested by Oro Valley Police for allegedly trying to steal an ATM in Oro Valley.

Gilbert detectives went on to serve search warrants at homes in Gilbert and Chandler, and were able to obtain evidence that linked Mariner and Cox to a total of four ATM theft cases.
