PHOENIX -- A 57-year-old transient man was shot and killed after allegedly walking onto another man’s front yard.
Phoenix Police said the man walked onto Donald Jackson Taylor’s property Friday night in the area of 2600 N. 31st Street.
The man reportedly started yelling at Taylor, which is when Taylor told the man to leave him alone and not come any closer.
Taylor, 48, pointed a shotgun at the man, and fired one shot when the man walked further onto his property.
The man, who had a history of threatening people in the area, was taken to a local hospital where he eventually died.
Taylor is a prohibited possessor of a firearm due to a conviction about three decades ago in another state. He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on a charge of misconduct involving weapons.
The case is still being investigated.
