PHOENIX -- A thief stole a trailer full of recreational equipment from The Refuge, a faith-based youth center in North Phoenix, last Thursday.

Around midnight a thief with a U-Haul cut through padlocks and chains to steal a trailer full of recreational equipment, including rafts, surfboards, tents, grills and kayaks.

"We have absolutely no way of replacing that stuff," Dan Brodeur of The Refuge said. "We have no way of even using our insurance to replace that stuff, just bring it back. Bring it back, drop it off on the front of the property. We will not look for you, we will not press charges."

The Refuge is a center that allows kids to do good deeds and be charitable members of the community.

In exchange for their acts of kindness, kids get to go on adventure trips using the equipment stored in the stolen trailer.
