PHOENIX -- The Valley of the Sun will live up to it's name today with plentiful sunshine and high temperatures.
Look for mostly sunny skies throughout the afternoon and a peak temperature of 102 degrees this afternoon. There's a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms throughout the day in the higher elevations of the state, but the deserts, including the Valley, should stay dry.
Tomorrow, a weak storm system will pass by to our north, driving stronger winds and bringing slightly lower temperatures.
The Valley will still top out near 100 degrees tomorrow and Thursday, which is about six degrees above normal for this time of year.
Eventually, highs will fall back to the upper 90s by Friday and stay in the 90s through the weekend.
No rain is expected in the Valley for the next week.
